We’re supporting the University of Leicester with mental health and wellbeing training as well as reflective practice programs.
What we did
Reflective practice
We delivered trainer led reflective practice sessions to learn from their own real world experiences.
Online learning
We created bespoke eLearning programs tailored around their needs.
MH First aid
We trained staff in Higher Education Mental Health First Aid to provide initial support to those who need it.
Bespoke courses
We developed and delivered live trainer led virtual sessions around mental health, wellbeing and resilience .
We have been supporting University of Leicester since 2019.
As well as supporting the needs of students, the university wanted to ensure staff were not forgotten.
We created and delivered tailored face to face training and online programs, as well as Higher Education Mental Health First Aid to provide initial support to those who need it.
We are currently delivering trainer-led reflective practice sessions to help staff reflect and learn from their experiences. In the sessions we explore vicarious or secondary trauma, compassion fatigue and the importance of self care.
What the client said
"Just done your Mental Health Awareness and Positive Wellbeing course. I thought it was an excellent package - great pitch, information and tone. A great product that I found really useful."

"I found your online Mental Health Awareness and Positive Wellbeing course really engaging. The content is presented in a very approachable way. To be honest I didn’t have high expectations of an online course about such an (inter) personal topic. But it’s actually an advantage because as a participant you can be honest to yourself and not judged by others in the room, so online might just be the right format. Thank you!"

"We were looking for a partner, who had a positive approach to Mental Health & Wellbeing. Someone who could convey the message in an engaging way while still being laser sharp about the seriousness of taking care of your own wellbeing. It was important to select a program, which could embrace our Colgate Culture and at the same time tap straight into various local cultures and allow each individual to feel invited and listen to.
The program has been a great success with incredible high participation on both the virtual instructor-led sessions and the eLearning modules. What we particularly love is the bite-sized, fun and interactive way the eLearning is constructed with a great variety to keep the learner hooked.
The equal and unpretentious dialogue Oakwood masters creates psychological safety and opens up for dialogue, vulnerability - and the opportunity to proactively take responsibility"

Oakwood's approach to Mental Health training was perfectly pitched for a senior team. The training was engaging, accessible, informative, important and mind-broadening. We came away with a much clearer picture of how mental health issues affect people at work.
