Post-Training Support
Helping you build a culture of continuous improvement
Making meaningful change isn’t something that happens overnight; it’s the product of consistent effort and continuous learning. That’s why, when your people finish their workplace wellbeing training with Oakwood, they won’t just walk away with newfound knowledge – we will provide them with a wealth of additional resources to further enhance their skills as they grow.
Our tools are designed to reinforce key concepts, making them easier to grasp and apply in real-world scenarios. Plus, these resources are great for sharing with the rest of your team, supporting a culture of ongoing improvement and collective growth. By investing in this holistic approach, you ensure that the benefits of your workplace wellbeing training extend well beyond the initial session, driving meaningful change throughout your organisation.

MoreDe-Escalating & Managing Conflict
Are your teams equipped with the skills and behaviours required to diffuse and manage conflict in the workplace?
Some work environments can be extremely pressured and, unfortunately, when dealing with the public, there can be the additional threat of violence and theft to contend with. In fact, 70% of retailers state that it is the number 1 threat to their business. It is not correct to assume employees have the appropriate life experience and communication skills to diffuse and manage conflict. With the right training and perspective on preventing and managing conflict, we believe many situations of violence and abuse might be avoided completely.

Workplace Wellbeing For Managers
Do your managers know how to build personal and team resilience? Do the understand the link between performance and wellbeing?
Statistics are telling us that a considerable proportion of work-related ill health cases are caused by stress and management style is the most common cause. Even if the stress is not caused at work, the consequences of stress are felt in the workplace. Absenteeism, presenteeism and bad decision making will impact team performance on so many levels. We believe, managers can do so much more to build productive and happy workplaces. They are in a fantastic position to influence the culture of a team and to create psychologically safe workplaces where people feel valued and supported.

Holistic Approach To Wellbeing In The Workplace
How do you and your teams handle mental health support or are the really difficult conversations avoided?
As the stigma around mental health dissipates in our communities, more than one third of employees now expect more mental health and wellbeing support from their employers. Of course, not all stress and mental health issues are caused by work and it’s not an employer’s job to fix or diagnose people, but employers can do so much more than signposting to employee assistance Programmes. Work pressure and workloads can intensify issues, but strong managerial support raises resilience and ensures issues don’t get to critical levels before action is taken.

The training was engaging, accessible, informative, important and mind-broadening. We came away with a much clearer picture of how mental health issues affect people at work. The training helped to dispel the stigma and fear of mental health - giving delegates the confidence to recognise some of the symptoms and a desire to do what we can to help people through periods of mental ill-health.

Lord Simon Wolfson
CEO, Next
Oakwood's approach is highly professional and bespoke. The training I attended with them, along with the top 25 senior leaders at Barnardo's was one of the most profound learning experiences I have had in a while. High quality, fast paced, deep, challenging, thought provoking and humorous. Brilliant!

Javed Khan
CEO, Barnados
The session was a great opportunity to reflect on how and why we should always talk about Mental Health, and how we can support one another.

Nick Mackenzie

I’ve worked with the Oakwood team on multiple projects. It’s a sad fact that violence and aggression is on the rise in the retail sector and AS Watson wanted to be proactive and give our colleagues the knowledge and tools to diffuse a potentially intense situation that could put our teams, colleagues, or visitors at risk.

Claire Reeves
People Development Content & Design Manager, Superdrug / AS Watson Group
Oakwood have completed many sessions for us since engaging with them in 2019. All course delegates praise the trainers for their professionalism, experience, and informative style; making the course easy to digest and changing their outlook on mental health. They have commenced some conflict management training, which we know will be delivered to the same standard.

Tommy Kelly
Group Health and Safety Manager, Matalan
The Oakwood team offer amazing support and guidance when needed. Oakwood were the expert friend that helped us springboard to where we are today, introducing wellbeing champions, Mental Health awareness modules, resilience content and listening groups. We have seen much stronger engagement in wellbeing content specifically and expect that to continue to grow.

Chris Britton
Head of Learning and Development, Carpetright
We were seeking a training partner with experience in delivering services to large complex retailers and one able to deliver the right level of impact across our workforce. We see great potential in using Oakwood’s services to enhance the wellbeing and care of our colleagues; making them feel more confident and able to raise issues they have in the workplace.
